Hello and happy Friday!
Today I thought I’ share with you all the tips you’ve shared with me so far this month to keep well. There’s nothing like ideas from others to keep you inspired on your wellness journey. So without further ado, here they are:
switch the unhealthy desserts for fruit! My fav is roasted nectarine halves, cinnamon & blueberries. Before you pop them in the oven add a teaspoon of coconut oil on top (takes 3 mins to prepare!). So easy and so delicious. Serve with plain yoghurt. YUM!
always keep a healthy snack such as a few almonds or some dry fruit on you. This stops you grabbing fat/sugar laden snacks while you are out
As an office slave, it’s tough to avoid the snacks. But I always make sure I have a good supply of fruit and my rule is that if I want a muesli bar/snack pack of chips/some chocolate, I have to eat a piece of fruit first. Most of the time that gets rid of the craving and I totally forget about the chocolate! Also, cook with coconut oil. It’s delish.
My healthy eating tip would be when serving dinner to always have half a plate of veges to make sure you get the right portions. We always try to have half a plate of veges, quarter meat, and quarter carbs (if having any). This is an easy way to make sure that you are having the right amounts of the different food groups.
Try to make sure breakfast contains protein and veges or fruit as well as complex carbs – it will set you up to make better food choices for the rest of the day
I always make sure I have healthy snacks on hand ie almonds stashed in my desk at work or an apple in my bag so that I can avoid getting too hungry and devouring everything in sight.
My top tip is WATER WATER WATER cant get enough I say!
My biggest tip to to exercise, exercise, exercise – it has been the one thing that seems to have helped me out of a low period.
Squeeze a lemon in a cup of water every morning for a refreshing drink and added vitamins
