Hello – wow it’s been a while since I’ve blogged properly. 2014 has been a super busy, hectic one and as a consequence my blog has become rather neglected. I do finally feel like I’m on top of things though and you can expect some yummy recipes and interesting reads coming up in the next few weeks or so.
So what have I been doing these past few months? Well here’s a little bit of what I’ve been up to
1. Martinborough Fairs
As well as food, fitness and nutrition, I like to get a little creative. This year, I shared a little spot on a stall at the Martinborough Fair with my friend’s mum at both the February and March fairs. That meant lots of time spent creating. I sold cushions, jewlery and some cute dinosaur hooks for kids bedrooms which was lots of fun but lots of time too.
2. Wedding preparation
The big day is only a few weeks away and I’ve been super busy emailing, planning, ordering and bossing other people around (well not really but help from others has been amazing!). I have to say, being the indecisive person I am, planning and choosing things takes up more time than you would think. If you’re a bride to be, I definitely recommend using a wedding planner template and using pinterest for inspiration. The only downside to Pinterest is there are so many nice ideas it’s hard to choose. You can check out my wedding board here if you’re interested.
3. Hen’s dos
Me and some of the hens biking around Martinborough’s vineyards
Of course, with getting married and all I’ve had a hen’s do. Well I’ve been a bit spoilt and had two. My lovely bridesmaid Caroline organised a fabulous weekend for me and some close friends in Martinborough. We road around the vineyards, drinking delicious local wines, met the “older hens” for lunch and some fun and games, and stayed over in a cute wee holiday house where we ate far too much yummy food and cocktails.
The amazing ladies at work also put on a hens night for me which was lots of fun. More games, lots of laughs, a bon fire, toasting marshmallows, music and drinks made for lovely night out with a great bunch of ladies.
4. NZ Girl
I’m still regularly posting over at the fabulous site NZ Girl, where bloggers from all over NZ share their favourite things. If you haven’t seen me over there already, you can find my posts here.
5. Sugar free 2030
I made trip up to Auckland for a few days to the Sugary Drink Free symposium. I have to say it was most interesting and enjoyable with fabulous speakers like Dr Richard Johnson, Robert Lustig and Sarah Wilson. There was lots of biochemistry about sugar and how it affects health – I learnt lots which I’ll share with you soon.
PS I also rebranded this year and got a lovely new logo from Hello Miss Potter. She’s just fabulous and I can totally recommend working with her! I hope you like my new look!
So that’s been my life over the past few months as well as squeezing in running and cross fit where I can. I’ll be back soon with some fabulous posts for you all.
