It’s my second week participating in ‘Healthy May run by Amanda from Here Comes the Sun and I have to admit this past week hasn’t been all that ‘healthy’ when it comes to food. It was my birthday this week which meant meals out, birthday cake and chocolate. Plus I baked some very delicious orange and ricotta mini cakes with sugared violets. But hey, it’s only your birthday once a year. Today I made a big pot of curried carrot and red lentil soup which is very delicious, so I’ll be getting a good vege fix at lunch for the next few days. Next week I’m going to start using My Fitness Pal again to track my food intake as it always helps me stay on track for eating well.
Exercise wise, things were better, and it felt really good to do a long run after two weeks of not doing one. I do my long runs in the country, and it’s so nice and quiet that often I’ll turn my music off and just soak up the surroundings and get lost in my thoughts. I never thought I’d be able to do that as I thought I needed the music to help keep me motivated, but some days I just enjoy the run music free.
