Roasted chickpeas are surprisingly quick and easy to make – and quite the addictive snack. They’re crispy and crunchy yet still a healthy snack that give you protein and fibre to help keep you feeling full in between meals. Plus there’s lots of options for flavours – here’s some ideas to get you started.
Flavour ideas:
*Garlic, rosemary and black pepper
*Cinnamon and a drizzle of maple syrup
*Coriander, cumin and sea salt
*Lime juice, coriander and chilli powder
Here’s how.
Ingredients:
- 1 can of chickpeas
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- herb and garlic seasoning
- pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Drain chickpeas and rinse well. Place on an oven tray and rub with paper towel so any skins come off and the are completely dry.
Drizzle over the oil and mix around the chickpeas. Sprinkle over the herb and garlic seasoning and cayeene pepper. Place in oven and bake for 20-30 minutes until crispy. Keep an eye on the chickpeas to ensure they don’t burn. Let them cool, eat and enjoy.

30 minutes completely burnt mine, so sad and disappointing. Will try again and take out after 15, hopefully it works.

O sorry to hear Lydia. Mine were fine at half an hour. I’ll modify the recipe though to 20-40. Guess it depends on your oven?
