As a nutritionist, people are always interested in what you’re eating. I thought I’d take a photo diary of what I ate this week to share with you. I can honestly say I’m not “hiding” anything or not eat anything because I didn’t want to show it on here, I thought I’d be totally honest and give you a snap shot of what I eat. I guess my philosophy is to eat a wholefoods diet high in plant foods the majority of the time yet still allow those foods I love sometimes.
I’m planning on sharing this whole week but I thought I’d give you a little snap shot, since I haven’t had much time to write posts this week.
Here’s what I ate on Monday.
Breakfast – this is a regular breakfast – oats, yoghurt, berries + chia seeds for extra protein and a boost of plant based omega 3 fats. I added a few almonds too. I don’t normally make it look this fancy but I was feeling creative on Monday! I had this with some natural yoghurt + milk (not pictured)
9.30am – treated myself to a flat white before our weekly team meeting
11am – mid morning snack was a small banana
Lunch – I usually make my lunch, but I wasn’t very organised so I bought it. I wanted a chicken wrap, as they have way more veges than the sandwich, but they’d sold out, so chicken sandwich it was. (I ate two halves – not just the one pictured 🙂 )
After lunch I had a mug of miso soup. My workmate gave me this Urban Hippie miso paste – she’s great. It’s got a nice flavour, although I have to say it doesn’t look very attractive 🙂
Afternoon snack – I needed to get some cash out for the egg delivery we have at work (we get free range eggs delivered – $6.60 for a tray of 30!!) so I bought a little treat – Whittakers dark sante bar. Also had another small banana.
I also shared this plate of oranges and carrot sticks over the table at afternoon tea time.
Dinner was home made fish cakes, salad, carrots and peas. Not overly attractive, but it tasted good!
I’ll share more of my week on Monday…. Stay tuned!
