My must have natural beauty products

While I am far from perfect, one thing I’ve been trying to be more aware of is my impact on the environment and also what products I use on my body. The good thing is that there’s an increasing range of more environmentally friendly and natural products available that are both effective and beautiful.   Oh Natural is an online natural, cruelty free beauty and wellness store with an array of beautiful products. I’ve been trying out some new products from the store and I’ve reviewed my top five favourites.

If you’d like to try anything yourself, Jenna at Oh Natural has kindly given you guys all FREE SHIPPING with the code EATWELL.  Yah!

Remember those scratch and sniff stickers you had when you were little?  This kind of reminds me of them – but way better and all natural!  As soon as I open this gorgeous mascara, I breathe in the delicious fruity scent. It honestly smells like you could eat it!  Aside from smelling amazing, it’s also a great mascara.  It coats your lashes to lengthen and separate them without looking clumpy and helps give them volume.  It doesn’t flake and lasts all day too.  It’s coloured from tea leaves, is naturally fruit scented and infused with lash conditioning nutrients.

I am an avid recycler but I had never even thought about throwing away my plastic toothbrushes, which of course are non recyclable.  These bamboo toothbrushes make a great alternative as they’re 100% biodegradable (and they’re better looking in your bathroom too!). I’ve been using the charcoal infused Got Wood toothbrush which is designed to help with bacteria and plaque.  It has fairly soft bristles that are gentle on your gums and I feel like I get a great clean with it.  There’s also a range of other bamboo toothbrushes at Oh Natural. Check them out here.

I’ve tried a few natural deodorants over the years and found them a bit hit and miss. The Black Chicken Remedies Axilla Deodorant Paste has had great reviews so I was keen to try it out.  I thought it would be weird scooping out a paste to smear under your armpits, but it’s not at all.  It doesn’t leave mess on your fingers and it also smells pretty good too.  I can safely say that after rushing around the house with a baby and going on some long, fast walks that my underarms were left feeling fresh and odour free.  Highly recommended.  If you want to try it for yourself before committing to purchasing a big tub, Oh Natural sells sample packs too.  You can get those, as well as the bigger sizes here.

When I went to use Spud I didn’t really expect much but OMG I am in love!  I’m pretty lazy when it comes to skincare and the Spud sponge makes life super easy.  You can use it with or without cleanser and I find it really makes your skin feel soft and smooth.  I use it in the morning without cleanser, and at night with cleanser.  It’s a nice way to clean your skin without stripping its natural oils and drying your skin out.

The sponge is environmentally friendly – after around 6 weeks of use you can put it in the compost to turn into something great for your garden.  Plus $1 from every Spud sponge sold goes to charity.  Check out the Spud Sponge here.

Because a lot of what you put on your lips ends up in your stomach, I’m quite conscious about what products I use on my lips.  I generally just wear lip balms but for a bit of colour I love the Luk Beautifood Lip Nourisher.  They’re made from natural ingredients and give you a sheer colour that’s not overpowering.  Cold pressed Avocado oil, Sesame seed oil and Cocoa butter help condition your lips so they feel soft and smooth. Oh and the lipstick case is recyclable too!  There’s a range of colours available – I’m currently using tea rose which is a really natural looking pink that enhances my own lip colour.  It feels really light on your lips and leaves them feeling soft and supple.

Don’t forget your free shipping code EATWELL if you’d like to treat yourself to some goodies.

Thanks to Oh Natural for the samples and making this post possible.

I would absolutely love to try the teeth whitener. I have heard all the good stuff about it and unfortunately my love for a glass of red vino doesn’t really support white teeth…

I love shopping with Jenna at Oh Natural. I love that she takes all the hard work out of shopping natural because she’s already done the homework of ensuring the products really don’t have any nasties.
I already use Axilla and love it!! I also use a charcoal tooth brush and it’s amazing how clean and fresh your teeth feel.
I’d love to try the spud sponge. I love that it’s compostable and supports a charity.
